I tested this locomotive with a 9-volt battery and it ran, but it was not track tested. Please zoom in on the high-definition photographs and judge condition for yourself. Model railroad locomotives will benefit from inspection, cleaning, lubrication, break-in running, adjustment, and other routine maintenance before regular operation. There is a chance that, unbeknownst to me, some of these locomotives may be DCC equipped. If you do not use DCC, it may be necessary to convert the locomotive back to DC operation. Unless a locomotive is sound equipped, the 9-volt test will not determine whether DCC components are installed. It takes time to do things the right way, and time is one of the things I have limited. These locomotives are small, my manual dexterity is not what it once was, and I do not want to risk damaging or losing parts during inspection.
